Financing Options

In pursuit of academic excellence, The Mico University College strives to procure scholarships and other awards for its members. Currently there are several awards available for students entering their second and third years of study.

MAYBERRY SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

Value of Scholarship – $25,000.00 per year for two years.

In honour of the late Mr. Maurice Berry, a distinguished past student of the University College, this scholarship is awarded on the basis of performance, attitude to work, commitment to teaching and need.

LODGE MICO SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

Value of Scholarship – $10,000.00 per year for two years.

TASTEE SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

Value of Scholarship – $50,000.00

Four scholarships are awarded: two to Special Education, one to Guidance & Counselling, and one to any other discipline.

RENFORD SHIRLEY SCHOLARSHIP MOSA NEW YORK AWARD

Value of each Scholarship – $15,000.00

Donated by MOSA New York Chapter, in honour of Mr. Renford A. Shirley, former Principal of the University College, this scholarship is awarded to two full time final year students in the diploma programme – one male and one female.

THE QUINTIN THOMAS SCHOLARSHIP

This award of $58,000 is given to the student with an overall average of B+ in at least all but two subjects in the case of Primary or Special Education and one subject in the case of Secondary students. The awardee is evaluated each year.

THE CAPITAL AND CREDIT SCHOLARSHIP

This award covers the full cost of the student's tuition and board for the three years of the degree programme. The scholarship is based mainly on academic performance and need.

N.B.: All awards are based on academic performance, University College involvement, extracurricular activity, and commitment to the profession.
