Welcome to The Mico University College, founded in 1836, with a history as the oldest teacher education and training institution in the Western Hemisphere. It is therefore among the preferred institutions of its kind in the Caribbean.

The Mico continues to remain true to its mandate to produce teachers who are critical thinkers and problem solvers and who are equipped to contribute to an improved quality of life among persons, whether they remain domiciled at home in Jamaica, or serve in the international community.

We are a University College that has qualified academic staff, who promote scholarship in our students and so the University College places emphasis not only on research but also encourages leadership. Our diverse curriculum not only equips students in the core areas but exposes all students to a foreign language. The Mico University College continues to grow and update its physical plant to accommodate its diverse student population.

You are invited to tour our site to discover the impact of the Mico University College not only in the class rooms but in many spheres of the public and private sectors, as well as, in sports. Many of our sportsmen and women have gone on to represent Jamaica internationally, in areas such as cricket and netball.

The Mico University College is the place to be, if you intend to pursue a career in the noble profession of teaching.

At The Mico we maintain our high standards through our capacity for innovation and hard work as we say in our motto,  "DO IT WITH THY MIGHT."
